Dry Needling

Dry needling is a technique used to treat tight or irritated muscles by targeting specific areas of tension, often referred to as trigger points. Very thin, flexible needles are gently inserted into these areas to help reduce pain and improve muscle function.

This approach is designed to release muscle tightness, improve circulation, and support more normal movement patterns.

How It Works

When muscles become overactive or strained, they can develop areas of tension that limit movement and contribute to discomfort.

Dry needling helps reset these areas by encouraging the muscle to relax, reducing sensitivity, and allowing for improved mobility and function.

Many patients notice a decrease in muscle tightness or an improvement in range of motion following treatment.

What It Feels Like

Most patients tolerate dry needling very well. You may feel a brief muscle twitch or mild ache when the needle reaches a tight area, followed by a sense of release.

After treatment, it’s common to feel looser or more mobile, with mild soreness that typically resolves within a day or two.

What It Can Help With

Dry needling may be helpful for a variety of conditions, including:

    •    Tension headaches

    •    Neck and back pain

    •    Shoulder tightness

    •    Hip pain and sciatica

    •    Sports injuries

    •    Overuse strains

    •    Muscle imbalances related to posture or repetitive activity

Our Approach

Dry needling is often used alongside chiropractic care, soft tissue work, and corrective exercises to support more complete and lasting results.

By combining these approaches, we aim to reduce pain, improve movement, and help you return to your normal activities more comfortably.
